At CH-ilates our instructor training is the internationally accredited and recognised STOTT PILATES®, CORE™, ZEN*GA™ and Total Barre™ curriculum and includes support for learning through workshops, instructional material and student mentoring.

Instructors undergo regular training and education to ensure their skills are always up to date and can be applied in a number of forums from one-on-one training to class environments.

No matter which of our courses or workshops you undertake, our CH-ilates instructors teach you how to 'think' Pilates, breakdown exercises, use different cueing techniques and understand how to program with variety, while working towards a progression-goal with your regular clients over a number of weeks. Our courses are flexible in structure that you can adapt to work around your life and lifestyle commitments. Utilising the STOTT PILATES method and
over 12 years experience working and training with real people, CH-ilates provides modules that you can take as time and lifestyle permits to progress you from qualified through to specialised.

We also pride ourselves on providing the best ongoing support for your Pilates journey and offer ongoing workshops and continued education modules as well as staff training, consulting and mentoring. Intensive Program

1. Intensive Mat-Plus™ – IMP

IMP provides you with the solid foundation and skills you need to develop effective and motivating group and personal training programs. This course teaches you to design and teach the Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) Matwork repertoire, integrating light accessories to add variety and meet the specific needs of your clients. In addition to the general course objectives, you will learn:

Workout composition for personal and group training Essential, Intermediate, Power workouts Flex-Band, Fitness Circle and Arc Barrel workouts Effective communication and observational skills, verbal cueing and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation Modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions How to incorporate resistance equipment to support and intensify exercises Theory and practice of postural analysis Exercise layering related to effective program design 63 exercises plus multiple modifications

2. Intensive Reformer – IR

This course teaches how to design and instruct Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) Reformer workouts in personal or group training settings for a range of clients. While IR may be taken prior to IMP, we recommend completing IMP first. In addition to the general course objectives, you will learn:

Effective use of the reformer to enhance torso stability and strength, peripheral extremity conditioning, joint stability, flexibility, balance and coordination How to develop programs for personal and group classes Essential, Intermediate, Power workouts Effective communication and observational skills, verbal cueing and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation Modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions Theory and practice of postural analysis Exercise layering related to effective program design 122 exercises plus multiple modifications

3. Intensive Cadillac, Chair & Barrels – ICCB

The Cadillac, Chair, & Barrels course has been restructured into three seperate modules to allow you to choose which element to take, and when (they may be scheduled consecutively). Completion of all three modules below is required to be eligible for certification.Intensive Cadillac – ICADICAD prepares you to teach Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) exercises on the Cadillac. By the end of this course you will be able to fine-tune personal and circuit training programs to meet a variety of clients’ conditioning goals with 125 exercises on the Cadillac Trapeze Table. Beyond the general course objectives, you will learn:

Effective use of the equipment to enhance torso stability and strength, peripheral extremity conditioning, joint stability, flexibility, balance and coordination How to develop dynamic programs in a full studio environment Essential and Intermediate exercises and variations Effective communication and observational skills, verbal cueing and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation Modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions Exercise layering related to effective program design

Advanced Program

1. Advanced Matwork - AM

This one-day course progresses to more advanced material, providing further options and challenges on the mat for highly conditioned clients. Exercises require a high degree of strength, balance and coordination. Also taught:

2. Advanced Reformer - AR

Learn to use the various reformer components and accessories to intensify reformer repertoire and provide a stimulating workout for athletes, dancers, and highly conditioned clients. Exercises in the Advanced repertoire require greater strength, stability and flexibility. Also taught:

6. Injuries and Special Populations - ISP

Learn to customize workouts to address weaknesses, health conditions, postural problems or injuries (but not to diagnose specific injuries). Topics covered in this lecture/demonstration class include:

Approaches to rehabilitating an injured musculoskeletal system Anatomy and biomechanics, dysfunctions and pathologies, and exercise modifications in the: lumbo-pelvic, cervical, upper quadrant, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle and foot regions Pregnancy, fibromyalgia and other special conditions plus workout design Appropriate modification of Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Stability Chair and Barrel exercises
