STOTT PILATES® instructo

CH-ilates is based on the inspiration and talent of Chael Hilton, Australia’s first STOTT PILATES® instructor to train under Moira Merrithew, creator of the STOTT PILATES method. Chael is also Australia's first and only Lead Instructor Trainer as she has an excellent standing with her students and colleagues alike.  With over 15 years experience working with students and training instructors across the country, Chael’s approach helps bridge the gap between learning the STOTT PILATES repertoire and supplements it with the skills and techniques required to deliver it effectively in a class format with fun and vitality.

It is a boutique and tailored approach to Pilates training suitable for students with a wide range of special interests, from people who are passionate about movement and exercise, to medical and allied health professionals caring for their patients. CH-ilates training can help students support people to improve their overall health and wellbeing through movement and increased flexibility, as well as assisting with recovery from injury and illness.

CH-ilates is unique as they inspire students to tap into their personal experience and vitality; learn to harness this and share it with their own clients. Chael and her team provide the highest quality training and support for students looking to become great and inspired instructors in a supported learning environment. Students master the art of combining the extensive knowledge of STOTT PILATES with their personal inspiration and talent for teaching Pilates.

Chael Hilton

STOTT PILATES® teacher

Beginning her career in the theatre as a singer/dancer, Chael was inspired to become a Pilates instructor and after extensive study and training became the first STOTT PILATES Certified Instructor Trainer in Australia. With over 15 years experience, she continues to be recognised for her excellence in the Australian Pilates industry and is demanded as a trainer and consultant around the country.

She began her training in the STOTT PILATES method in Toronto, Canada and on successful completion of her exams was invited to train as an Instructor Trainer in the STOTT PILATES method under the world renowned, Moira Merrithew. On returning to Australia in 2002 after training with some of the best instructors in the industry, she opened The Pilates Principle and began training others in the STOTT PILATES method. Chael has worked with elite sports people and teams, including the Brisbane Lions, professional dancers, musicians such as Sting and people with everyday health issues and physical rehabilitation needs. She regularly consults to a range of healthcare professionals from physiotherapists to osteopaths and this gives her the ongoing opportunity to expand from the Pilates studio to training healthcare professionals and consulting to corporations across the country.  She currently works with the West Australian Ballet in the Rehab team to keep them on their toes.

Chael has a Bachelor of Arts from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Drama and has also completed a minor in dance. She has her advanced certificate from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance in the Modern Theatre Dance Branch. Chael was also a lecturer and choreographer at QUT. She regularly attends STOTT PILATES education and training workshops in Canada as part of her continued education.
